Motorbike training and Sardinian dream roads

Each day began with extensive motorbike lap in the morning, during which we explored the breathtaking roads of Sardinia. Amir guided us with valuable tips and turned every ride into a lesson as well. The evenings were then reserved for short, brisk sessions – perfect for putting what we had learnt into practice. The island’s roads proved to be a real tyre killer: the first tyres had to be changed after just one week. A special experience was to drive along the famous SS125 with a stop at the Bar Silana, where we immortalised ourselves, of course.

Relaxation and action between pool and water-volleyball

In addition to motorbike riding, we enjoyed the Sardinian sun by the pool or on the beach. The water-volleyball tournament was particularly fun, where team spirit and competition were equally important. The temperatures cracked the 40-degree mark on some days, which made the rides and relaxation phases sweaty but unforgettable.

Culinary highlights and evenings together

We spent the evenings either in local restaurants or with cooking together. There was everything from pasta parties to cosy barbecues – and of course, not to be missed, Sardinian specialities. For example at the spring festival in Bari Sardo. The spontaneous stories and experiences that we told each other after the trips were particularly funny.

The special wildlife crossing on the roads was sometimes a memorable experience: Cows, sheep, goats, donkeys and even horses crossed our path and provided unexpected but unforgettable breaks. Of all things, our cleaning fairy was particularly lucky with the droppings.

At the end of the trip, we were not only better motorbike riders, but also an even closer community. Sardinia, we’ll be back!

Of course, things don’t always work smoothly and little hitches may happen. It’s especially exciting when motorbike parts suddenly come to life by their own. Then the drill gets unpacked, a bolt gets drilled out and a thread is cut so that, for example, a mirror can be screwed back on where it belongs.

Conclusion: A perfect mix of adrenaline, relaxation and community – exactly what a Ducati Club holiday is all about! 🏍️☀️

The festive finale was the evening event in the Loisium, including a small awards ceremony, a wonderful dinner together and intensive ‘petrol talk’ among like-minded people.

Unfortunately, after breakfast on Sunday morning, it was time to pack our bags. We left in beautiful sunshine – to be replaced by pouring rain from Seebenstein on but this did not dampen the positive mood. Here a special thanks goes to our dear Daniela, who not only took care of organizing the routes to and from Styria, but also coordinated the accommodation for everyone without a glitch.

The 2025 season opening proved once again why the DOC community is so special: perfect logistics, great roads and routes and a unique camaraderie among the participants made the weekend unforgettable. With this event, the DOC Styria has shown how to combine motorbike enthusiasm and organizational talent – chapeau! We are already looking forward to the next event and would like to thank everyone who contributed to making this weekend such a success.

For this tour we decorated our bikes with memorial ribbons, each with a few personal words for Hannes, and in Mariazell we said goodbye to our friend. We held a minute’s silence in the church, where we also lit a candle for Hannes to remember him and keep him alive in our memories. It was a moment of gratitude, solidarity and farewell and will be a fond memory for a long time. We finished off our visit to Mariazell with Oliver reading a poem – ‘Do not stand at my grave and weep’ by Mary Elizabeth Frye (1932).

During the event, we had the chance to be expertly introduced to the latest Ducati models. Experts on site, above all the head of the company Helmut Weginger, explained the technical highlights, special features and innovations of the latest models in detail. The personal dialogue and expert advice made it clear why Ducati stands for quality, performance and design. There was undoubtedly something for every motorbike enthusiast to whet their appetite for the coming season. We also got a sneak peek at a special conversion of a Diavel V4, planned and realised by the top mechanics at Bike Vertriebs GmbH.

A special highlight was the birthday party for our dear Amir, who was delighted with the lovely surprise. We toasted his special day together and presented him with a delicious cake, which was of course eaten together straight away. The moment was characterised by joy, community and the appreciation we feel for Amir and our Ducati family. Such events not only strengthen the common bond, but are also a great opportunity to gain new impressions, inspiration and friendships.

At the end of the tour, we rounded off a successful day at our first official club evening at „Renates Postschänke“ in Sulz. Over excellent food and cold drinks there was lots of laughter – especially about our involuntary Breitenfurt turn. A successful start for DOC Amici, which shows that it’s not always the route that counts, but the people you ride with. We are looking forward to many more adventures this season!

After the successful founding of our club, „Motorcycle Club Amici,“ registered in the central register of associations, the first general meeting – or in this case – our founding meeting took place.

There was a lot to do, the agenda was about four pages long, including electing the board, deciding on the amount and use of the membership fee, and appointing the auditors.

In addition to the compulsory organizational program, there was a surprise in the form of new shirts for the elected board – they had already given themselves the working title „Tick, Trick, and Track“ during the prep phase:

The logo and name had already been discussed and refined in our WhatsApp community beforehand – yet our motto was still open, and we had several options to choose from. In the end, we agreed on

which loosely translates to „Friends connected by their passion for Ducati“.

There was lots of laughter, excellent food and drinks, and a wonderful evening together to get our DOC Amici off the ground.
